Teheran warned Israel today against any attack

Originally published

Teheran warned Israel today against any attack on Iran responding to a recent Israeli statement where an official said that Israel gives itself the right to launch strikes on so-called enemy states if they are developing long-rage missiles.

An Iranian government spokesman was heard on Iran's state radio saying: "Those who harbor aggressive intentions against the Islamic Republic of Iran will repent their actions."

On Monday Israeli Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai said that Israel reserves the right to launch preemptive strikes against long-range missiles in other countries if they pose a threat to Israel's security.

The Israeli minister did not mention Iran in his statement although he was speaking at a seminar where most of the discussion focused on Iran's reported efforts to develop long-range missiles and weapons of mass destruction.
