I don't like Arabs!
“I’m Jewish. I don't like Arabs.” That is the sentence that was said by a replacement Knesset waiter to Knesset member Ahmed Sa’ad of the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality.
The incident transpired at the end of the Knesset Finance Committee meeting with the leaders of the business world. Food was served to those present, and Sa’ad saw a waiter who had an Arab countenance. Sa’ad, whose front is affiliated with the Israeli Communist Party, said the waiter looked like an Arab to him and so he innocently turned to him in Arabic. "I hadn’t even managed to complete my sentence and he responded: " I’m Jewish and I can’t stand Arabs. I don’t like them."
The enraged Sa’ad immediately appealed to the Knesset Chairman who was present at the scene. After a short investigation it became clear that the waiter was a temporary employee hired by an employment agency to work in the Knesset cafeteria. Therefore, it was not hard to dismiss him.
