Boueiz stresses unconditional Israeli withdrawal

Lebanese Foreign Minister Fares Boueiz stressed that the United Nations organization shoulders the responsibility of improving its credibility and regaining its freedom and independence.

In a speech during a reception he held on October 27 at the foreign ministry on the 52nd anniversary of the foundation of the United Nations, Boueiz said Lebanon wants the UN General Secretariat, and the security council to have a more constructive role inte region.

He also said Lebanon hopes that the Security Council's resolutions will be implemented, and that all parties are equal under the international legitimacy, pointing out in this regard to UN resolution No. 425 which provides for the unconditional Israeli withdrawal from south Lebanon and western Bekaa.
