Violence escalates in Algeria following local elections
After the escalation of violence in Algeria, the Algerian security forces managed to kill one terrorist in the heart of the capital while a bomb detonated, killing another terrorist who was bearing it in Al Ibiar district.
The first terrorist was killed by security forces after he tried to escape. The other terrorist intended to explode the bomb in Al Ibiar district, which is densely populated and which is full of government buildings and embassies as it lies in the heart of the capital.
Al Ibiar district was the scene of many explosions this year, one of which resulted in the death of 6 persons and the injury of 26 others when a bomb exploded in the commercial area. Another explosion resulted in the injury of 9 people who were at a cafe at the same area.
These violent acts come a few days after the local election which was held last Thursday and which the opposition claimed to have been tampered with by the government.
Meanwhile, Algerian armed forces have been surrounding the jungle of Banyam for a week which is very near to the capital, and they are watching all the entrances to the jungle. The forces managed to destroy many hiding places and small factories in which the terrorists were manufacturing arms. The forces will use heavy arms in the imminent attack against the terrorists who are hiding in the caves and trenches which they dug some years ago.
