Expand aluminum industry

The technical meeting of Aluminum industry in the Gulf Cooperation Council states recommended the expansion of intermediate aluminum industries.

The meetings which concluded in Doha, the Qatari capital, on October 26, also urged member states to focus on exports as local demand was satisfactory.

A report made by the Industrial Gulf Industries Organization, which organized the meeting, showed that the Aluminum industry in the Arab world was concentrated in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, with a production capacity of 1.1 million tons.

The shares of GCC countries in the Arab aluminum industry is estimated at 78.1 percent, the report noted also that the percentage might be lifted to 82.5 percent.
