Assad reviews peace process with Russia's Primakov

Syrian President Hafez Al Assad received on October 26 Russian Foreign Minister Mr. Primakov and his accompanying delegation. Talks dealt with the peace process and its developments as well as the goal of the Russian minister's current tour of the region.

Mr. Primakov noted that Russia, being a peace process cosponsor is interested in this process and in getting it achieve its goal which embodies the real interests of all parties and in the international community.

President Assad welcomed an effective Russian role to rescue the peace process and the push towards achieving just and comprehensive peace.
