Fundraising race for cancer research

The Canadian Embassy in Damascus held the 17th "Terry Fox " annual fundraising race for cancer-disease researche.

A number of Ambassadors, consuls and Arab and foreign diplomats accredited in Damascus took part in the race.

More than 1400 Syrian citizens and foreigners living in Damascus also took part in the fund raising race with started from the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus.

The Canadian Ambassador said the aim of the race is to collect contributions for covering costs of research to find a cure for cancer.

The race is well promoted in Damascus and is supported by Syrian activities, the ambassador said.
