75 houses destroyed by heavy rains in Khartoum

Heavy rains which lashed Khartoum on October 9 destroyed 75 houses in the area of Khor Shambat and 38 shops in Al-Thawra as well as causing damage to 50 additional shops. Efforts are being made to list the houses destroyed in western Omderman.

The heavy rain also led to collisions between motorcars. No casualities in lives were reported. Medical sources said that rate of Malaria infections will increase as a result of the rains, and warned of an impending health crisis, Al Ettehadi daily paper said today.
