ArabicNews.com was told that Libya summoned the Ambassador of Belgium in Libya, as his embassy is running US affairs in Libya, and handed him an official memo. The memo contained Libya's request to send a number of US citizens to appear before a Libyan court as they are charged with causing material and spiritual damages while carrying out attacks against the Libyan cities of Ben Ghazi and Tripoli in 1986.

The memo also mentioned that the convicts include Phil Aliston (armament officer), Jack Fielsotn (military pilot), John Bondcaster (National Security Advisor), Oliver North ( Assistant National Security Advisor), Frank Calo (commander of the US 6th fleet), Ferdinand Myers (military pilot) and Robert Gates ( Assistant of the National Security Advisor).

The Libyan request also said that men named are charged with the crimes of premeditated manslaughter and endangering the Libyan public safety in both Beni Ghazi and Tripoli, which entails their trial before a Libyan court, according to Libyan Criminal Law.
