Teachers call for pension law move

The private schools teachers association on October 13 elected George Saade as president and Ali Jradi vice president of its pension fund. Saade urged Sidon MP Babyah Hariri, who heads the parliamentary education committee, to accelerate the enactment of the teachers pension law.

This would include a backdating clause to render justice to retired teachers who received their pension on the basis of their old salary scale, he said.
