Increase in custom duties on imported cars?

In response to Beirut MP Salim Hoss' inquiry into the increase in custom duties on imported cars, Prime Minister Rafik Hariri said that the government amended duties after it was clear public transportation was improving in both "quality and quantity."

Hariri also announced the customs administration has been monitoring the investigation into who leaked the information about the increase in duties. "The public prosecutor dealing with financial fraud is investigating the case," said Hariri.
