Palestinian women's center: Marriage can wait
Palestinian girls who want to get married should be at least 17 years old, not 15 as is the case at present, a Palestinian center for women studies said.
The center called on the PNA to take steps to minimize the damaging effects of early marriage among girls and called for fighting this phenomena among Palestinians. A study conducted lately by the center showed that 41.8 percent of women in the Gaza Strip had gotten married when they were between 12 and 17 years old.
