"America" in the First Czech Film Festival in Cairo

Within the cooperation between the Egyptian External Cultural Department and the Czech embassy in Cairo, the First Czech Film Festival was inaugurated in Al Hanager Center at the Opera House in Cairo by the Czech ambassador in Cairo and the director of Al Hanager Artistic Center, Dr. Hoda Wasfy. The festival will continue for four days.

Four Czech films will be presented at the festival, displaying the development of the cinema industry in the Czech Republic. The inaugurating film is “America” which depicts the immigration of a Czech citizen to the USA and the difficulties he faces while he is away from his homeland. The film shows how the hero is shocked by the new society and how his dreams are thwarted. This film was presented in the Cairo Film Festival earlier this year.
