Assad meets with Yemen's Ali Abdallah Salih
The Syrian and Yemeni presidents resumed their talks on September 15 in a closed door meeting at al Shaab palace in Damascus.
Syria's Hafez Assad and Yemen's Ali Abdallah Salih discussed the development of conditions in the region and the stalemate in the peace process as a result of the Israeli government's attitudes.
Talks also dealt with the efforts to promote joint Arab action in defense of Arab rights and the realization of a just and comprehensive peace.
Yemeni president voiced Yemen's solidarity with Syria's national stances and support for the struggle Syria is waging to liberate the occupied Arab lands and to restore the usurped rights.
The two president also reviewed bilateral relations and expressed common desire for developing them for the benefit of the two sisterly countries.
Earlier on September 15 Yemeni president had arrived in Damascus for a short visit to the Syrian Arab republic. He was accompanied with an official delegation.
