Alexandria’s International film festival opened

Egypt's Minister of Culture yesterday opened Alexandria's 13th international film festival. The opening ceremony, held at 8:00 p.m. at the city’s conference hall, was attended by the city's governor, Abdel Salam Mahgoup.

The minister honored veteran Egyptian actors, writers and film critics. Raouf Tawfik the festival chairman said.

Egypt’s celebrated film director Yousef Chahin will hold a meeting with Alexandria’s intellectuals and film critics to discuss a variety of topics related to Egyptian cinima and its crisis, Al Wafd daily said today.
