Alfi vs. Hussien case press ban

Egypt's prosecutor general ordered yesterday a ban on the publication of any details related to the suit filed by Minister of Interior Hassan El Alfi against Al Shaab newspaper, the biweekly attributed to the Islamic labor party.

Al Shaab editor-in-chief Magdy Hussein, had been leading a fierce campaign against the interior minister over one month ago, accusing him of corruption and misuse of his influence to increase his wealth.

Alfi sued Hussein and 5 other reporters working for the same newspaper, accusing them of libel and slander, Al Ahram daily said today.
