Children's rights in the spotlight
The Children's Rights Committee proposed to Lebanese parliament a plan forbidding legal procedures against minors. The aim is to give the juvenile delinquent the chance to readapt to society, without risking subjecting him to further delinquency. Deputy Mouaouad said that in cases where children were hit, mistreated or legally pursued, complaints would be filed by the committee to take their defense.
