Ismalia folklore festival rejects Israeli participation

Originally published

Israel's request to participate in the International Folklore Festival, due to be held in Ismalia, Egypt on August 28 was rejected by the Festival management for the second year in a row, a festival official said on August 12.

Israeli participation was refused on the grounds that Israel attributes many Palestinian heritage phenomena to itself and has engineered a long-term plan to eliminate Palestinian folklore.
