Egypt's Mubarak says Israel responsible for peace stalemate
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak holds Israel responsible for blocking the Middle East peace process, due to its policy of settlement and its unwillingness to abide by provisions of concluded agreements.
In a dialogue with heads of Egyptian universities, Mubarak warned against the danger of the current conditions which jeopardize security and stability of the entire region.
The Egyptian president renewed commitment to a just and comprehensive Middle East peace as a strategic option based on Israel’s pullout from all the occupied Arab territories.
Mubarak also pointed out that Egypt’s efforts are being exerted to rescue the peace process and to bring it back on track in line with basic peace constituents, most important of which is the land for peace principle.
He reiterated the need to speed up establishing the proposed Arab common market, which is indispensable in the era of world economic blocs.
