Shops closed in Hebron after bombs thrown at troops

Israel's army said on July 28 it was barring commerce in parts of the West Bank town of Hebron after Palestinian protesters threw bombs at soldiers.

Palestinians said the army was preventing about 150 shops from opening near the dividing line between Israeli and Palestinian-controlled parts of the town.

The army arrested about 20 Arabs in Hebron late on Sunday after protesters threw several homemade bombs at soldiers, the Palestinians said.

"The army barred the opening of shops and commerce this morning in parts of Hebron where bombs were thrown last night," an army spokesman said.
