Sudan hopes to forge better ties with Egypt

A senior Sudanese official voiced hope today that his country will forge better ties with Egypt adding that Khartoum was ready to accept any mediation to solve its disputes with Egypt.

Relations between the two countries reached their lowest point in years after Sudan refused an Egyptian request to hand over to Egyptian or Ethiopian authorities three fugitive terrorists involved in an aborted assassination on president Mubarak.

Cairo Accused Sudan of leading the attack.

Secretary-General of Sudan’s higher council for peace, told the Kuwaiti El Rai-El Aam daily paper that Sudanese government support the efforts exerted by the united Arab Emirates president Seikh Zayed-Bin Sultan Al-Nahian to end Egyptian-Sudanese differences.
