Saddam delivers important speech today

Originally published

On the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the Iraqi Revolution, on which his party was brought to power, President Saddam Hussein is to deliver a speech today.

The Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that Saddam would talk about the relationship between his country and the United Nations Special Commission UNSCOM responsible for dismantling Iraq’s prohibited weapons under the cease-fire terms of 1991. Before lifting any UN sanctions on Iraq, UNSCOM should certify that Iraq currently has no such weapons.

Saddam will also tackle the reconciliation of relations between Iraq and the Arab countries as consolidated ties enhance the interests of all parties.
