UN General Assembly condemns Israeli settlements with sweeping majority

Today the UN General Assembly, with a sweeping majority, issued a resolution condemning the continuation of the Israeli settlements being built in Gabel Abu Ghoneim and other places in Jerusalem. Another resolution which calls for not encouraging anything that may help build settlements in the occupied lands was also issued.

Over than 130 centuries voted for the resolution, the United Sates and Israel against.

It's noteworthy that this is the first resolution to be taken since Israel started to build the Abu Ghoneim settlements in March. From that time, the peace process has deteriorated rapidly.
