Investigation committee on Israeli bridge collapse

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netaynyahu announced a team has been formed to investigate the death of two Australians and injuries to 43 others when a bridge at the biggest Israeli sports stadium collapsed amidst a Jewish sporting event's opening ceremonies.

Tel-Aviv television said the Australian delegation was standing near the bridge when it collapsed. Netanyahu decided to resume the ceremony despite the accident, something he was obviously criticized for. In an attempt to lessen the shock, Israeli authorities froze the event activities for one day.

The officials' decision to continue with the ceremony while the drowned and the injured were still being saved from under the bridge caused great anger.
