Fresh problem in Egyptian Actors Association
Budding actress Gihan Nasr, who was catapulted to stardom after playing leading roles in many TV serials, has caused a fresh problem in the trouble-plagued Actor’s Association.
Nasr has filed a report with the Abdine prosecution office against the association chairman Abdl Gafa Ouda, vice-chairman Ahmed Bedir and a board member, Ghasan Matter, accusing them of trying to force her to work in the comic play "Bahlool in Istanbul."
The actress said that although she decided to quit her theater career in June, the syndicate officials tried to pressure her to work in the play during the summer. They also threatened to cancel her acting permit unless she bows to their pressure, she claimed.
In her report, Nasr also denied Ouda’s statements that she willingly aggreed to act in the controversial play.
