Chinese offer expertise in upgrading free trade zones in Suez
A ministerial meeting convened within the cooperation agreement with China on the development of industrial free trade zones northwest of Suez.
This area of Suez has a strategic geographical location as it is a linking point and main entrance for Africa, Asia and Europe, which means the area is a good location for the steel, iron and fertilizer industries.
The ministerial committee comprised the ministers of electricity and agriculture, rural development, industry and mineral wealth along with the Suez governor, who met with the Chinese delegation currently visiting Egypt.
China will offer technical expertise and will participate in upgrading feasibility studies for the area to encourage the Chinese public sector to contribute to proposed investment projects in the area.
