Turkey, Israel criticized by Yemeni leader

Originally published

Yemen's president Ali Abdullah Saleh said he deplores the Turkey-Israel alliance and said it is at the full expense of national Arab security.

In an interview with the Egyptian "Rose el-Youssef" magazine, published in a recent edition, President Saleh condemned Turkey's incursion into northern Iraq and described it as a gross violation of an Arab territorial integrity and its security and stability.

Saleh called on the Arabs to adopt a serious stand to confront challenges facing the entire Arab nation.

The Yemeni president reiterated his country's support for a just and comprehensive Mideast peace based on Israel's total withdrawal from the occupied Arab territories and restoring usurped rights.
