Sudan seeks to improve ties with neighbors

Sudan’s President Omar Hassan Bashir said yesterday that his country and Egypt would resume normal ties "in the near future."

In an interview published yesterday in the Saudi Okaz daily newspaper Bashir said that Khartoum was working to improve its strained relation with its other neighbors.

Egyptian-Sudanese ties reached their lowest point two years ago when Khartoum refused to hand to Egypt or Ethiopia three fugitives linked with an aborted assassination attempt against president Hosni Mubarak.
