Iglesias, Bassey to perform in Lebanon
Spanish Julio Iglisias and British singer Shirley Bassey will hold seperate performances this month in an area of Beirut that saw some of the most violent fighting during the days of the 1975-90 civil war.
Organizers of those concerts have said that Iglesias will perform at the Forum de Beyrouth hall July 24, 25, and 26.
Bassey will sing July 10 and 11, also at the Forum in Beirut's Qarantina district.
The two singers are the latest in a series of European stars who have performed in Beirut since the civil war ended. Earlier this year, Spanish tenor Jose Carreras and British sentimental singer Engelbert Humperdinck also performed in front of packed audiences at the Forum.
French pianist Richard Clayderman also performed in Lebanon on Valentine's Day.
