Parental wrath

A father received three years of hard labor in prison for electrocuting his 13-year old daughter after finding out she had been raped by three unidentified farmers, a source in Sharkia Germinal coast said yesterday.

Abdul Rabou Imam, a vendor in Diarb Negem village, confessed to killing his daughter, Sabah, after his wife told him the girl had been raped by some strange men.

"My wife and I decided to kill her to avoid a looming scandal, and I immediately tied Sabah with a wire and connected it to an electrical outlet. She died immediately," the source quoted Imam as telling the court, which found him guilty on two accounts of law.
