Deputy police director general Mohammed Saied Tarzi said the drugs mainly hashish, heroin and cannabis seeds were sized in 224 operations in which 737 Jordanians and foreigners were arrested.
"Jordan is not a drug producing country but a transit point because of its geographic position," Tarzi said, according to the official Jordanian news agency.
In all ,65 kilograms of cannabis seeds and other drugs were burned by police.
Jordanian police said on June 23 they arrested five drug traffickers, all foreigners, after seizing nine million US dollars of heroin and cocaine stashed in a Turkish-registered car.
