Palestinians denied press freedom, official
Representative of Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) today said that Palestinian newspapers are prevented from publishing the truth.
Abu Sorur said that Palestine, as an occupied country, cannot disseminate information about crimes being committed in the country by the Israeli government.
Sorur said that the Israeli government prevents the release of figures pertaining to the number of people, including combatants and civilians, being killed in the conflict in Gaza Strip.
He said that "that regime does not even let the newspapers release the death toll of the Israelis because it is afraid that Israeli soldiers will refuse to take part in the war against the Palestinians."
