Saddam death sentence, not to end Iran complaint
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini yesterday said that Iraqi president Saddam Hussein's death sentence does not mean an end to the investigation of Iran's complaints.
He made the remark, while speaking to domestic and foreign reporters at this week's press conference, in response to a question about the ruling issued on Saddam and failure to investigate Iran's complaint.
"We definitely expect our complaint to be investigated thoroughly, given that the file just investigated covered only part of the crimes committed by Saddam Hussein. His bigger files should certainly be investigated," he added.
Turning to actions taken by the Foreign Ministry to this end, he said that officials in charge have fulfilled their duty and that the prosecutor general has compiled a complaint in this regard.
"The complaint was submitted to Iraqi officials by Iran's Foreign Ministry, which was passed on to an authorized court. It is now being pursued through legal channels," he added.
