NGO woman kidnapped in Iraq

Originally published

In another development in Iraq, an Iraqi woman working for the American RTI non governmental organization was kidnapped in the downtown of Tikrit.

When the security men tried to get the woman back from the hands of her kidnappers, clashes took place between the two sides that resulted in injuring two policemen, and the kidnappers were able to flee to an unknown destination.

Also concerning the file of hostages in Iraq, several members of Hamas, which won the Palestinian legislative elections, called on the kidnappers to release the four members of the Christian Peacemaker Teams in Iraq.

The four hostages are the British Norman Kimper, the American Tom Fox, and the two Canadians James Lony and Harmit Sudin who were kidnapped on Baghdad on November 26th, 2005.

However, a group calling itself the Groups Of The Rightful Swords said in a registered recording that it will kill these hostages unless its demands are met in releasing Iraqi prisoners from the American and Iraqi jails.
