Lebanese officials underline distinguished relations with Syria

Originally published

Former Lebanese Minister Suleiman Franjeih on Wednesday underlined the importance of adhering to distinguished relations with Syria, referring to the good outcome of the meetings of the Arab Lawyers Union recently held in Damascus.

Franjeih, meeting a delegation of Lebanese Amal Movement, criticized campaigns of instigation against Syria, saying "we are supporting a relation that keeps security and stability in Lebanon."

Meanwhile, the Social Nationalist Syrian Party in Lebanon renewed condemnation of the mounting pressures against Syria, stressing that these pressures target the Arab nations identity and existence.

The Party, in a statement following a meeting in Beirut, praised the Arab lawyers who held their conference in Damascus in solidarity with Syria against foreign pressures.

In another development, former Lebanese Premier Salim al-Hoss called for the necessity of "inseparability of the Syrian, Lebanese and Palestinian tracks in the peace process to ensure the Arab legitimate rights."

Al-Hoss said in a lecture at al-Hikma University that the unity of these tracks is the guarantee that gives leverage power to negotiations, adding that without this unity there will not be a just solution for the Arab-Israeli conflict.
