Saddam Hussein's trial delayed until Sunday
The trial of the toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and seven of his aids in al-Dajil trial case has been delayed until Sunday.
Raed al-Jouhi, the spokesman for the court said that some of the witnesses are outside the country and therefore the court decided to delay the session until Sunday January 29 after it had decided to hold it on Tuesday (yesterday).
This came after a new judge was appointed to chair over the court. He is the Kurdish Raouf Abdul Rahman ( 65 year old) from Halabja town, where 5,000 persons were presumed to be killed in an attack by gas carried out by Saddam forces, after the Kurdish judge Zarkar Muhammad Amin gave his resignation in mid January.
