Lahoud meets UN Hariri murder investigators

Originally published

The Lebanese president Emil lahoud on Sunday expressed his hope that the UN investigation committee into the murder of the former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri will be able to disclose all issues connected to this crime.

During his meeting on Sunday with the new chairman of the UN investigation committee the Belgian judge Sergey Brammertz, he considered that completing this mission helps disclosing "the terrorist plan" Lebanon is exposed to.

A Presidential statement said that Lahoud focused the attention of the Belgian judge that the delay which so far took place in the investigation opened the way before explanations because of which the Lebanese have become fearful that the truth will be lost and that new atmospheres undermining Lebanon's national reconciliation process will be created.
