General secretariat of pan-Arab parties stress support to Syria

The General Secretariat of the pan-Arab Parties stressed that resistance is the only way for the Arab nation to maintain dignity, adding that other tactics only lead to "insult and destruction."

A statement issued by the General Secretariat at the conclusion of its two-day emergency meeting in Damascus overnight said "we are as confident of victory, as confident in the victory of resistance in Lebanon and Palestine, as well as the rising resistance in Iraq." The statement called on Arab masses to support Syria in the battle of the Arab dignity and rejection of foreign mandate and hegemony.

It added that threats and pressures addressed by foreign powers against Syria aim at turning Syria into a means to get them out of their quagmire in Iraq and undermine Syria's principled stances.

The statement highly appreciated the latest speech delivered by President Bashar al-Assad at Damascus University as representing the Arab nation's conscience and commitment to resistance and steadfastness.
