Qaddoumi, head of intifada support- meeting

Head of the Syrian Public Committee for Support of Palestinian Intifada, Ahmad Abdul Karim, discussed in Syria on Monday with Head of the PLO Political Department Farouk Qaddoumi "the campaign of pressure put on the Arab people which aim at serving Israeli interests in the region at the expense of Arabs."

The meeting also discussed latest developments on the Palestinian and Arab arenas and the misleading campaign against Syria and its people.

Qaddoumi stressed that "Syria will remain the steadfast castle of Arabs in facing US and Israeli attempts to impose their hegemony on the region."

He said "the Palestinian official appreciated the principled and honorable Syrian stances under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad in defending the Arab legitimate rights."

He also thanked the Committee for its efforts in offering humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians "who face most ugliest form of Israeli aggression and repression at the hands of Israeli occupation."
