Nine Iraqis, three American soldiers killed in Iraq

In two separate statements, the American army said that three marines were killed in two attacks in west Iraq.

The first statement read that two of the US soldiers were killed in al-Amereyah area near al-Falluja, 60 km west of the capital Baghdad, when one explosive went off in their vehicle, while the third soldier was killed in a car accident near Rawa town, west of Baghdad.

Nine Iraqis were killed in various attacks in the governorates of Baghdad, Karkouk and Sameraa, according to Iraqi security sources.

In another development, the American forces said that the vast military operation carried out with the participation of the Iraqi forces in west Iraq, known as the "iron curtain", entered last stages in al-Karabelah town in al-Anbar governorate.
