Qatari papers denounce pressures on Syria

Qatari al-Sharq and al-Raya newspapers denounced the American escalations against Syria, pointing out that these pressures serve the Israeli interests in the region.

In its editorial on Saturday, al-Sharq paper said that the American policy in the region aims at carrying out its agenda in the Middle East based on serving the Israeli interests in the region.

The daily criticized the American exploitation of the UN Security Council as a card to put pressures on Syria, describing the American policy as blind and premature.

For its part, al-Raya paper said that whenever Syria shows positive stance regarding the international issues, the American administration escalates pressures on Syria.

In its editorial published Saturday, the daily criticized the American accusations against Syria for not controlling its borders with Iraq as a lie to cover its crisis in Iraq.
