Lebanese president calls for facing foreign plots
Lebanon's President Emile Lahoud on Wednesday called on the Lebanese to be aware of foreign plots that aim to weaken the internal Lebanese cohesion.
"We should not surrender to rumors some sides try to market in order to plant fears inside Lebanese souls," Lahoud said during a meeting with a number of Lebanese political figures.
He stressed that the political and security authorities spare no effort to protect civil peace and national reconciliation.
Meanwhile, head of the Resistance Bloc at the Lebanese Parliament, Mohammad Raad said that national resistance will remain a legitimate right for all Lebanese as long as Israel still occupies Lebanese lands.
"Lebanese officials should not be affected by emotions that fuels division among Lebanese people," Raad added in a meeting with Lebanese former Premier Salem al-Hoss, noting to the necessity of resistance at this stage when Lebanon encounters foreign threats and pressures.
