Syria's ambassador in Brasilia said on Thursday the aim of US pressure on Syria is in the US and Israeli interests in the region.

"The aim of these pressures is to serve the US and Israeli interests in the region at the expense of the Arab rights and interests, to finally divide the region and weaken it," Ali Diyab said in a lecture at the American University of Anapolis city in Brazil.

He underlined Syria's "nonstop keenness to achieve the just and comprehensive peace based on the international resolutions and the restoration of the occupied Arab territories."

Diyab reviewed in his lecture, the Arab-Israeli conflict history and conference references in this respect, noting at Israel's "intransigence," in implementing the UN relevant resolutions is the matter that prevented the region's stability.
