Lebanese figures for boosting Syria- Lebanon relations

Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Shiite Higher Council, Sheikh Abdul-Amir Qabalan has called for cooperation between Syria and Lebanon.

In his Friday speech, Q abalan underlined that cooperation with Syria is important for the stability and security in Lebanon and that without Syria, stability would have never been achieved in Lebanon. He expressed high appreciation for Syria's leading role calling for Lebanon to resort to sane dialogue with Syria.

Chairman of the Lebanese Najada Party, Mustafa Hakim, has stressed that dealing with the conspiracies which are "being hatched against Lebanon" requires more cooperation with Syria.

In a statement to reporters today, Hakim expressed surprise over the intensified campaigns against the Syrian-Lebanese relations and the issue of the Palestinian camps in Lebanon.

He added that these campaigns aim at separating Lebanon from its Arab surrounding and making it an easy prey for the Israeli plots.
