Continued threats by al-Qaida

Originally published

Al-Qaida organization in Iraq led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi threatened to escalate its attacks during the holy month of Ramadan. In a statement issued on the Internet on Tuesday evening, the organization called on its followers to intensify their attacks against the American and Iraqi forces.

The statement also called on the Arab Sunnis in Iraq to boycott the referendum on the Iraqi constitution set on October 15, but did not threaten to attack the ballot centers, and confined to the attempt to convince the voters to vote "No" through doubting their success to defeat the constitution, due to the American interference in the process.
