Mubarak visits Saudi Arabia today
Diplomatic sources announced that the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will head today to Saudi Arabia on a one-day official visit during which he will be meeting with King Abdullah in order to discuss developments in Iraq, Syria and the Palestinian territory.
The sources said that the Saudi- Egyptian summit will deal with the deteriorated security conditions in Iraq, the developments of the peace process, and the situation in the Palestinian territories and Syria as well as bilateral relations and means of cooperation in fighting terrorism.
However, news reports talked about Egyptian- Saudi mediation arrangements to solve the crisis between Syria and the USA over predictions that the report of the UN investigation committee into the assassination of Lebanon's Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri will accuse Damascus in this regard.
