Talibani calls for resignation of Jaafari
With the approaching date for the referendum on the Iraqi constitution, the chairman of the Kurdistani national Union Party which is led by the Interim President Jalal al-Talibani called for considering the resignation of the interim Iraqi prime minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari from his post.
The chairman of the press office of the Kurdistani National Union party Azdad Jandiani said "it is time that the two lists of the Kurdistani coalition and the Iraqi United Iraqi Coalition to study removing the prime minister from his post because keeping him in this post is damaging for the political process in Iraq."
This came after Talibani accused the interim prime minister of violating the laws and making decisions without consultations. Talibani also accused Jaafari of not implementing the articles of a joint agreement signed by sides of the Kurdistani coalition and the Iraqi coalition before the formation of the current Iraqi government. Jaafari said on Saturday he will answer Talibani's accusations at due time.
