420% increase in foreign investments in Egypt in 2004

The annual report released by the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) on investment in 2005 pointed out that Egypt topped the list of African countries in terms of direct foreign investments inflow in 2004.

"Direct foreign investments amounted to $ 1.253 billion in 2004 compared to $ 237 million in 2003, up by 420%," the report noted.
