Allouni put in prison, again
The Spanish police announced the detention of al-Jazeera correspondent in Spain, Taiyseer Allouni, who was under home arrest.
This was after he was notified that his trial is to be held in advance on Monday rather that the previous date set for September 26. He does not know the reason behind this change.
In a statement to al-Jazeera, Allouni lawyer Jose Galan said he does not have contact with his client who was taken on Friday evening to Granada prison and will be taken next Monday to Madrid where he expected the sentence against Allouni to be read in public in an open trial session.
Galan said he will appeal the sentence, to be taken against Allouni if he will not be found innocent from accusations addressed to him, to the Spanish supreme court and then the constitutional court. If the lawyer's efforts will not be successful he will appeal before the European court for human rights.
Galan expected Allouni to be in a bad psychological conditions especially after his mother's recent death. Instead of permitting him to attend his mother's funeral, he was admitted to prison, though his detention does not violate the Spanish law which permits detention before trial.
