A Syrian security source said that four policemen were killed last Friday in clashes in Madaya town, 40 km west of the capital Damascus, with a group calling itself "Jund al-Sham organization for Jihad Wal Tawhid."

News reports on Tuesday quoted the source as saying that the clash took place after a security forces clash with a group which was called "Takfereyah- Irhabeyah," adding that five members of the group fled later to the mountains.

However, no Syrian official source confirmed this information, but human rights organizations sources said that "a group of the Syrian security sources knocked the door of the house of one of the wanted men in Madaya but his brother surprised them by firing a mortar that killed four security men members." The same sources added that the security forces killed the brother of the wanted man, while the group fled from the house to Madaya's nearby mountains.
